*November 15 marks the one-year anniversary of the historic demonstrations of hundreds of thousands of supporters of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights last year following the passage of Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in California. Hundreds of thousands of supporters of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights took to the streets in over 200 cities across the U.S. in one of the largest and most visible days of protest for LGBT rights in U.S. history, helping spur a new generation into activism.
