316 S. Main St., Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104
Cost: $15

Songwriter Annie Capps says that her lyrics "are a shameless exposé of her own doubts, fears, and desires, with inner revelations that speak clearly to the masses." She has a sweet, wry perspective and a warm, funky groove to her songs. Annie is joined by her husband Rod Capps, with whom she performed in the late lamented rock bands Dreamstreet and the Foolish Mortals. Annie Capps is a Michigan road warrior who began to think about folk music in a whole new way when she heard the songs of Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffin, and Jonatha Brooke. Annie and Rod have just released a terrific new album, "My Blue Garden." U.P.–raised, Los Angeles–based songwriter Lindsay Tomasic defines her music as "acoustic, lyric driven folky pop, with a touch of soul, a pinch of humor and a dash of Americana." If you like the music of Shawn Colvin and Patty Larkin, you’ll enjoy Lindsay Tomasic’s songs about life, love, family, and the state of the planet. Lindsay’s rich, confident alto voice is an attraction in itself. She has opened for Janis Ian, Kenny Rankin, and Jesse Colin Young, and her songs have been featured in the television shows "Desperate Housewives," "The L Word," "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy," and "Malcolm in the Middle," and in the feature film "Wild Hogs." Her latest album, "The Most Amazing Dream," is her sixth, and it mixes personal and topical themes.
