Sydney band The Maladies bring their eastern seaboard tour to The Tote to perform tracks off their debut CD "With You Right By My Side, Baby The Deal Just Can’t Go Down" (out via MGM on Nov 6). The Maladies inventive take on folk-rooted Rock n Roll swings wildly between erratic guitar noise, shrieking vocals and driving swamp beats, to chain gang antiphony and haunting traditional melody. Their distinctly powerful live shows exhibit musicianship and zeal that all too often leaves the audience unsure whether to weep applaud or perform an exorcism. They are joined for this Special night by none other than James McCanns Dirty Skirt Band, Black Pony Express & Little John. $10. 8pm
