The MIRA-Resource Centre for migrant and refugee women in Norway turns 20 years this year. We will celebrate with a big concert November 14th 2009, in Oslo, Norway.
One of the MIRA-Centre’s primary goals throughout its existence has been empowerment of girls and women with minority backgrounds. We have worked hard to make the diversity of minority women’s lives and experiences visible, we have promoted equality and human rights for all, and we continue to work hard to combat racist gender discrimination, violence and religious, ethnic and cultural discrimination and prejudices in the wider Norwegian society
