Toronto) Tickets: $5 at the door. includes free ‘Jonestown: The Deluxe Edition’ download card and Kool Aid Package 19+. Doors: 9pm. Show: 10pm ----- D-Sisive returns to the stage on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at The Drake Underground, to officially launch his latest release ‘Jonestown’. The free digital-only release is the follow up to D-Sisive’s Polaris Long-Listed album ‘Let The Children Die’, which featured the SOCAN Echo award winning song ‘Nobody With A Notepad’. “It’s the Kool Aid,” describes D-Sisive, on his newest LP, Jonestown. The Juno nominated artist decided to take a break from his dark/depressing content to focus on the “battle-rap” style he became known for in the late nineties. The album boasts production from heavyweights Muneshine (Sean Price), Moss (Ghostface, Obie Trice), Anonymous Twist (Planet Asia), Murr (LAL, formerly of The Grassroots), and Toronto-born/NY-based Marco Polo (Heltah Skeltah, Masta Ace). Toronto artist Slim Twig (paper bag records) also makes an appearance on the Shinogo produced ‘Around The World’. The Muneshine produced debut single, ‘West Coast’, is already popping up on blogs and radio playlists across the country. “It’s a secret,” laughs D-Sisive, after being asked to explain the connection between the album’s content and it’s title. Jonestown will be released Wednesday, November 18, 2009, also marking the 31st anniversary of the Jonestown Massacre. D-Sisive celebrates his release with Canadian heartthrobs Calcu-Lator & The Oral Presentation (aka The C.O.P.) who in 2009 made their triumphant/auspicious/inauspicious return to the stage after a 3 year hiatus. From hip hop about mutant birds to arena rock about ass to folk ballads about racial slurs to punk songs written by market research departments, The C.O.P. puts the "good show" in the phrase "Hey, that was actually a pretty good show." You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even learn something. Originally from rural Saskatchewan, Muneshine has come a long way. Now in Toronto, he has established himself as an award-winning, sought- after MC and Producer. Selling over 30,000 albums worldwide, as well as working with hip hop legends Pete Rock and DJ Spinna, Muneshine has earned the respect and praise of fans, artists, media and industry folks alike. Tickets are $5 at the door which includes free ‘Jonestown: The Deluxe Edition’ digital download card and Kool Aid Package.
