Leigh-Chantelle & the Red Paintings will be performing as part of the Cocktails with the Captain. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society president & founder (and co-founder of Greenpeace) Captain Paul Watson will be in Brisbane on Tuesday 24th November. A gala event will be held at the Queensland Museum in the whale hall from 6:30pm so that Captain Watson can meet and greet a select list of South East Queensland executives, environmental champions, celebrities and media. Terri Irwin from Australia Zoo and Hannah Fraser, Australia’s professional mermaid, have confirmed their attendance as special guests. Lindsay McDougall (Triple J’s The Doctor) will be the emcee for the event, with music by Leigh-Chantelle and The Red Paintings. This event is to raise much-needed funds for Sea Shepherd’s upcoming Antarctic Campaign (Operation Waltzing Matilda) to save the 1,000 whales that will be targeted during the December 2009 to March 2010 whaling season in what has been declared an Australian whale sanctuary.
