On a day when gambling and excessive drinking is encouraged, Mad Racket harks back to the swingin-est days of prohibition with a dress-up night for flappers, molls, players, shills and ‘leggers with a taste for illicit hooch.
Heading up the proceedings at this gin joint will be local Boss Man, Peret Mako, performing LIVE. Shipping and storage of contraband will be handled by the Racketeers: Jimmi “The Kids” James, Ken “Bruiser” Cloud, Simon “Sleeps With The Fishes” Caldwell and Zootie aka “Eddie”. It’s not the oldest Racket in town, but it’s a sure fire bet for deep music lovers.
Peret Mako brings his live show for the first time, on the hush-hush tip, fresh on the heels of winning “Best Electronic Album” at the AIR awards for his album “The Devil’s In The Detail”. The Boss Man is always packing heat.
All bribes have been paid to the relevant parties, so this joint will be jumping until the early hours. Poker in the back, smoking around the side and dancing front and centre, there is something for any refined or debauched taste at the Marrickville Juke Joint.
Dress for swingin’ times… prizes for the best!
