Well it’s that time of year again when Green Bohemia goes all festive for a weekend, and throws a fabulous Christmas Party at Green Room, hosting some of our favourite acts from the Green Bohemia roster! This year, we have a truly tantalising line-up of excellent artists spread over Friday and Saturday for you, as always including some newcomers and some old favourites! Highlights include: - Thingumabob & The Thingumajigs – with their own unique brand of Salford-born ukele-drenched party madness, this fabulous good-time band has become well known at Green Bohemia for getting every last person in the venue on their feet! - Louis Barabbas & The Bedlam Six - intensely articulate and knowingly droll, theirs is a sound placed in the whiskey-stained jazz bar, the Tom Waits-goes-Gypsy vibe supplemented by the kind of theatrical performance from Barabbas that elevates the show above merely a rendition of songs. - John Mackie – full band set from ace Mancunian songsmith John Mackie... Sensitive and inspiring lyrics framed in acoustically-inspired arrangements, and a truly impressive voice. - Blind Atlas – returning to Green Bohemia for their second set, Blind Atlas’s ability to expertly combine the traditional melancholy of the classic Northern sound with the boozy soul of American alternative country surely makes them the perfect Green Bohemia band! - Vinny Peculiar – this quirky and exciting artist, possibly best known for his collaborations with the KLF’s Bill Drummond, writes kitchen sink confessional songs that celebrate the nuances of life and loss – from semen donation to suicide dads – the kind of songs that make you blush and weep at the same time. His songs have also been vicariously described as poignant confessional and vaguely disturbing! - Kamal Arafa & The Moonlight Band – Kamal’s beautiful folky songs are the ideal soundtrack to Green Bohemia, and he delivers them with energy, charm and wit, set against a lavish backdrop of viola and violin. One of the most distinctive voices in Manchester, and one of the most talented writers too. Plus lots more superb music! Click on the artists to check out their music!
