In 1983, Dave Zamboni made a bet with his brother that a local band called Miracle Legion would be more famous than newish bands called U2 and REM. Well, the bet was who would have fame, that part he admits was a loss but, Dave still claims that if the bet was who has better songs, to this day, he insist Mark’s solo stuff and Miracle Legions 5 or 6 records are victors.
Checkout the tribute album that recently came out for Mark and you will see he is not alone. Thom Yorke from Radiohead, Michael Stipe of REM, The National, Ben Kweller, Frank Black from The Pixies and tons more have covered Mark’s songs with all proceeds going to Mark to help him out of a sad situation. Mark’s wife suddenly passed at 31 leaving Mark raising his two young children alone.
We are honored to be part of such a special concert for an old friend and huge influence on our band.
