Opening for the unbelievable Pandit Vikash Maharaj on Sarod and his son, Prabhash, who accompanies him on Tabla, have been thrilling audiences in Washington, New York and California. They have an electric energy together and connect with their audience heart to heart. Their beautiful North Indian music captures the soul and raises it to new heights. Indian music originates from the Vedas and, when played authentically by masters, it has the power to heal, transform and touch the soul. Born into 15 generations of musicians from one of the oldest music families in Varanasi, India, Pandit Vikash Maharaj and Prabhash astonish audiences with their virtuosity and mastery. The melody and fluency expressed, speak of deep emotions and moods with clarity and precision rarely heard on the Sarod. The precision and speed of complex rhythms is lightening fast on Tabla. Pandit Vikash Maharaj comes from India to share his cultural heritage and to help create awareness for the protection of environmental concerns, human rights and civil liberties. Through his music he hopes to create a deeper experience of peace through which people are inspired to return to their nature and live in a humane and harmonious world.
