Refresh your spirits with the rich sound of the Baroque masters. Proving the wealth of talent that has garnered LACO praise as “America’s finest chamber orchestra” (Jim Svejda), five of the Orchestra’s principals step into the spotlight as leaders and soloists in an evening of concertos. Principal cello Andrew Shulman is at the helm for Vivaldi’s Cello Concerto in C minor. Assistant concertmaster Tereza Stanislav, principal second violin Josefina Vergara and associate principal second Sarah Thornblade are the featured violinists in Bach’s Concerto in D major for Three Violins. Principal oboe Allan Vogel takes the lead in Bach’s Oboe d’amore Concerto in A major. Also included on the program is Purcell’s Chacony in G minor and Mendelssohn’s Sinfonia No. 5 in B-flat major.
