Reptile Palace

Cost: Adults $5, kids under 10 free

It’s a Halloween event, with costumes encouraged! 7pm is a special kids set, then Veselika (stunning acoustic Bulgarian dance music) plays at 8. Reptiles hit around 9:30pm. Forward Wisconsin Folk Arts Association is sponsoring the first ever Folk Dance Homecoming featuring live music by Veselika and Reptile Palace Orchestra, free food, and drinks (donations only) for young and old. When: Friday, October 30 Time: Doors open at 6:30 p.m., dancing will be from 7:15 - 10:30. Location: Goodman-Atwood Community Center, 149 Waubesa St. We’ll be in Evjue C and D (C has a wooden dance floor). Cost: Children under 10 FREE! 10 and over, $5.00 For the Kids: The first music set will for kids (and adults who haven’t grown up yet). We’ll teach one or two simple dances to the kids then dance with them. Kids in costume will receive a healthy treat. For the Adults: Adults dressed in homecoming attire (gnarly formal gown, hideous tuxedo, etc.) will receive a free cup of Anna’s Mysterious Punch in the Face or any beverage of their choice. At the end of the night, we will crown the Homecoming King and Queen, based on a long list of completely arbitrary qualifications. For Everyone: Lots of free goodies, free Apple Cider. Opportunities: 1. Sell If you are a craftsperson or have a service/organization you’d like to promote, we will be providing space at a long table to for you to do that. The "price" for doing this is three dozen cookies or a generous portion of some other foodstuff (pasta salad, veggies and dip, etc.). Help Don’t want to dance? Recovering from a Lambada-related mishap? Partnered with a folk-dancer but would rather set your own hair on fire than cavort thusly? We need non-dancing voluteers!
