RAPS, with assistance from FLASH and Sensitive Guys with Guitars is proud to present SUKOB, a showcase benefiting the victims of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana).
Typhoon Ondoy, which brought more rainfall than Hurricane Katrina, left an impact that brought the Philippines to a "state of calamity" For many of us here in the United States, the storm literally hit home, as many Filipino Americans were unable to contact their family members back in the Philippines.
With that in mind, we felt the word Sukob was appropriate, as it means to shelter together under something--more often than not, an umbrella. The word symbolizes not only our longing to help, but a shared struggle with those back in the Philippines to rebuild what the Typhoon had swept away.
All monetary donations will go to the Ayala Foundation USA. Donations of medical supplies will also be accepted.
