Hugh Cornwell, singer/songwriter/guitarist with the Stranglers from inception to 1990 returns to The Cellars for a warm up show ahead of the Hooverdam Tour 2009 The man responsible for bringing you Golden Brown, Always The Sun, Peaches & No More Heroes amongst others too numerous to mention shows once again why his songwriting remains unique, outstanding and legendary. Jack Daniels has recognised his importance to rock history by inviting him to become their rock icon in The US, UK and Ireland for 2008/9. The new album, available on Invisible Hands Music, will be performed in its entirety, together with Rattus Norvegicus, the debut album from the Stranglers. ’Hooverdam’ is available as a free download, on vinyl, and as a special Digipak including the movie ’Blueprint’ a live studio performance of the album. His dynamic, electric trio is completed by Chris Bell on drums and Caroline Campbell on bass guitar.
