George is quite simply one of the best songwriters to emerge over the last few years. He draws on his Greek heritage and his profound love of the English tradition to create something quite distinctive yet reassuringly familiar, and delivers his tales of ordinary heroes with an understated passion that makes for an utterly unique experience.
Although best-known for their instrumental skills with Scottish smallpipes, accordion and even Swedish nyckelharpa, Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer are well recognised for their song arrangements too. With their blend of traditional material and contemporary interpretations, they have developed a sound that is both familiar and fresh. Being as they’ve guested on George’s last two albums, this promises to be a mutually fruitful double-bill! Admission £8 (£7 advance)
