Filligar, a young band with a growing reputation in Chicagoʼs Indie rock
scene, recently followed their graduation from Dartmouth and Hamilton
colleges with a six-week, thirty-city tour. The band will be settling down in
their hometown of Chicago for a few months to work on a full-length album
(to be released in early March.) On November 28, Filligar will take a break
from the studio to debut never-been-heard material at this holiday show.
Filligar is a young rock nʼ roll band from Chicago that has built up a loyal
following in the city and across the country. They were recently featured
in a 2-page spread in Chicagoʼs Red Eye. The band has been
enthusiastically endorsed by American rock-critic Jim DeRogatis, radio
icon Roe Conn, print media such as the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times,
and popular music blogs like I Guess I’m Floating.
Filligarʼs music has been described as "Wildly trickly indiepop, mingled with
a sort of hallucinogenic Americana folk" and according to the Chicago
Reader, their most recent album, Near or Far, “comes damn close to
redeeming its fallen genre: the music is crisp, shimmering, and rich."
