Cadillac Bob and the Rhinestones are one of the biggest and best blues bands in New Mexico, have performed with legendary blues players including Ray Charles, Bo Diddley, Ben E. King. They recently opened for Beatlemania in Albuquerque, and have performed at the Telluride Jazz Festival, and headlined the El Rey Theater’s legendary Christmas Show for the last 10 years. CADILLAC BOB and THE RHINESTONES are known for their vast repertoire of standards and chart busters, as well as their ability to make well-known songs uniquely their own, not to mention their wonderfully strong and stylish vocals, thanks to the RHINESTONES singers. The CADILLAC BOB band features Dan Dowling (guitar), John Griffin (bass guitar), Arnold Bodmer (keyboard), Mike Fleming (drums), John Truitt (saxophone), and Chuck Coulter (trumpet). THE RHINESTONES are Joan Griffin, Denise Brissey-Cohen, and Kathy Gutierrez. The Planets were a musical institution throughout the Southwest from 1975 through 1985. The reunion show in October was so incredible, that we just had to have them back again! The Planets’ original founding members will perform together. You’ll remember Steve Morelock, Denise Brissey-Cohen, Carl Silva, Debbie Blakely-Eaton and Davis McLarty from the original line-up. The late Joe Don Davidson’s son, Justyn, will fill in on guitar and Mark Paden will handle the bottom end. The Planets were one of the most exciting rock ’n’ roll bands playing the southwest club circuit, with more infectious energy, thought, and spontaneity than most major rock bands. Based in Albuquerque, The Planets formed in 1976, and played covers (some argue better than the original versions) along with some of Steve Morelock’s own compositions. Long-time house band at Neds, they were a staple of good rock-n-roll music in the southwest for years. This is a 21+ event. More information to come.
