At times, the combination of Smith and Buller is nearly overwhelming. Smith, as she has demonstrated on pervious discs, has some songwriting skills, as well, and the title track here (co-written with husband Kraig Smith) is evidence that she continues to develop that aspect of her talent. Mainly, though, she’s a singer’s singer, and it’s no stretch to suggest that Valerie Smith may possess the most versatile, dynamic and evocative voice on the current bluegrass scene. Jacksonville’s Ernie Evans is now a member of this fantastic band on guitar and mandolin.
