Multi-instrumentalist and founding member of the influential bands Broken Social Scene and Do Make Say Think, Charles Spearin blurs the line between speaking and signing, and life and art in his latest – The Happiness Project. Spearin initiated the project a year ago when he began inviting neighbors over to his house for casual interviews about their happiness. After replaying conversations, he found a natural cadence and melody to the speaking voices of his neighbors as they each shared their views, longings, and life tales.
