I rediscovered this wonderful, intimate New York venue while singing harmonies with my friend A.J. Roach a few weeks ago, and they were kind enough to squeeze us in for December. The space is a small, cement room in the basement of Saint Paul’s Chapel, at Columbia University. It’s lit up with christmas lights and able to fit about thirty people. In a city where so much is electrified, this is a dedicated acoustic venue. We will play unamplified, but the room is perfect for this, very reverberant and very much a listening space. It’s quiet. Quiet as the tomb, in fact. It is a crypt, after all.
