In Short – Walls tattooed with orange and red flames provide an infernal backdrop for purebred rockers who work the crowd of big hair ’80s-era graduates. A leopard-print carpeted stage and matted glossies of Catwoman play on a kitschy feline theme, an assumed homage to the club’s owner, Stray Cats’ drummer Slim Jim Phantom. Shiny scaffolding and camera-ready set lighting betray a recent makeover by reality TV show, "Monster House," but the scuffed hardwood floors preserve the club’s authentic heritage. –
