Tim Byrnes and Hazel-Rah: More or less a solo act, Hazel-Rah is Byrnes’s compositions for guitar, percussion, and synthesizer (specifically his CZ-101). This performance will feature drummer David Andrew Moore as well as world premiere compositions. http://www.myspace.com/timbyrnes Paul Pinto: New York native, Paul Pinto is quickly making himself known in the avant-garde music circles of the metro area as a “cutting-edge” composer, an exciting performer and founding director of the city’s freshest classical ensemble, thingNY. He will be performing My Super Special Recital, which he describes as ‘a multi-multi work of tyrannosauric avant-gardism for solo reciter, many objects and some only partially willing participants’. http://www.paulpinto.bravehost.com/ Edensong: Edensong was formed by James Byron Schoen in 2002 at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Since then, they have released their debut album, The Fruit Fallen, to critical acclaim, quickly becoming regulars on the festival circuit and developing a reputation for being ‘a...band that raises the standards and refreshes rock with artistic freedom and innovation’. http://www.edensongtheband.com Barry Seroff: A New York based composer and improviser, Barry Seroff’s music has been described as ‘flirting with progressive rock but from the perspective of Stravinsky.... (his work) shows a real mastery of the craft of composition and creative insight into making a piece work for the performers *and* the audience’. He will be performing his pop music arrangements as well as excerpts from Democracy. http://www.barryseroff.net
