FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RICHARD BARONE & FRIENDS TO PERFORM AT EAST VILLAGE HOT SPOT DROM, ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21st RICHARD BARONE will bring his unique brand of stylish, guitar-driven power pop and his colorful posse to the stage at DROM, 85 Avenue A (Between 5th & 6th Streets in the East Village) on Saturday, November 21st. Doors at 7 pm. Showtime is 8:30 pm. As musical and theatrical director, he has scored shows and staged all-star concert events at such venues as Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. His fifth solo album, GLOW is in release via iTunes, and his first book, FRONTMAN: Surviving the Rock Star Myth, was published by Backbeat/Hal Leonard Books and performed as an all-star ’musical reading’ at Carnegie Hall. Most recently, Barone has released "I’ve Never Seen A Straight Banana," an album which he produced, at age 16, for the pop culture icon, Tiny Tim. For his debut performance at DROM, Barone will be joined by collaborators including: multi-instrumentalist DENI BONET; legendary Donovan percussionist and singer-songwriter CANDY JOHN CARR; PETE KENNEDY of the folk rock duo The Kennedys; up-and-coming singer-songwriter LAURA CAYER; GLOW producer STEVE ADDABBO; and drummer RICHARD KERRIS, who performed on GLOW and directed the recent “Bulrushes 2007” video featuring The Bongos and Moby. Guest singers will perform mini-sets before joining Barone on stage for a career-spanning concert that will also introduce new songs and surprise covers.
