MIYAGI
12/5/2009 7:30 PM at The Miyagi Four Nations Spectacular
3-7 Waterloo Place, The Ark, Edinburgh,
Cost: £4
Here’s an extra special treat as we bring you new music from the four corners of the UK and maybe even beyond.
Representing Scotland we have Edinburgh’s own Sea Bass Kid - the catchiest tunesmiths you’re likely to hear and rather fond of filling a dancefloor with their upbeat jangly funtime grooves.
From England we have the magnificent Loose Kites. No strangers to a live session on BBC6 Music their rockabilly skiffle vibes have been causing quite a stir down Merseyside way and further afield. We’re delighted to welcome them back to Edinburgh and look forward to bit of Scouse madness on the Ark stage.
From Wales (sort of) we have the folk supergroup that is The Glendale Family. Consisting of Glastonbury-playing Welsh Troubador Andy Hickie, Edinburgh-born poet, song-writer and allround superstar Chris Ingram, and a small posse of musicians (some old and some new) you are guaranteed entertainment in many forms and facets from this motley crew.
Representing Ireland we shall be introducing you to The Green Grass Candidates. With an Emerald Isle twist on the beauty that is bluegrass we have it on good authority that these guys are going to blow you away!
Now as if that is not enough. We have more. That’s right - more.
We have an extra special set from none other than..... US!!
That’s right - MIYAGI
With poor Claire in the recovery position and the other two MIA it’s left to Andy and Alex to fly the flag, and we have something extraordinary in all senses of the word up our sleeves.
All I can say right now is think Electro-Americana and get excited!
Okay so all that and a mere £4 tariff - I believe you may want to put Saturday 5th December 2009 in your diary as Four Nations Spectacular night.
See you there
