Workshop: Faetrad- Cross-Cultural examples of Otherworld Music. This presentation, as part of the annual Harvestfest celebrations, will present examples of some of the areas of traditional music in which Otherworld folklore plays a major part by presenting samples of field recordings and videos. This lecture is a good "jumping off" point for anyone interested in traditional faerie-lore music who wants to know where to look for more information on the subject.
As weather and circumstances permit, I will be performing- earlier and later in the day on the back patio- shorter versions of "Second Hearing:Turlough O’Carolan and Other Blind Bards of Gaelic Tradition," and the forthcoming program "The Nine Waves: The Selkie, The Sailor, and The Spirit of the Ship."
