On Sept. 26, our homeland of the Philippines was struck by Typhoon Kestana. Manila was 80% under water with "one month’s worth of rain". People climbing to their roofs for safety. The death toll is expected to rise above 100, thousands still missing, the country is in a national state of calamity. FACT: Hurricane Katrina rainfall = 380mm in Louisiana. Typhoon Ondoy rainfall = 410mm in Manila, Philippines
With that said, all the money Warhol Soup makes at the door and from t-shirt sales will go towards helping the flood victims (charity TBD). We are reaching out to everyone, not just Filipinos. This is about human beings being there for each other in the toughest of times. It would actually mean so much to see a lot of non Filipinos there to support the cause. If only America knew how much Filipinos back home admire American culture and want to immigrate here. Please come and show your support for the Philippines and Fil-Am music.
