Irish Sean-nós step dance, literally meaning old style, is a highly improvisational, low to the ground, rhythmic dance form in which the dancer is free to interpret the music. Maldon Meehan has studied in sean-nos and set dance in Ireland. She is the 3rd place winner of the 2005 Comórtas Chóilín Sheáin Dharach, a sean-nós jig competition in Connemara. Maldon holds a masters of Ethnochoreology from the University of Limerick. She is the only dancer teaching sean-nós is Oregon.
All ages welcome. No dance experience or partner required.
