11/18/2009 8:00 PM at Benefit Gig for Oxfam Australia - The Butterfly Club
204 Bank St, South Melbourne, Victoria 3205
Cost: $22/$17
We have all been shocked at the recent tragedies in Samoa and Indonesia but are at a loss as to how to help. Along with the generous people at the Butterfly Club, please join us in trying make a difference in the lives of people affected by natural disasters and attend this one night only performance of all new material from Tom Dickins and Jen Kingwell.
All proceeds from the performance (both the artists share, and the Butterfly Club’s share) will be donated to Oxfam Australia’s Asia Appeal for victims and families affected by the tsunami in Samoa and earthquake in Indonesia.
The show is an exploration of "home", with a series of vignettes and songs exploring the old adage "if these walls could speak". The material is all new - featuring unheard originals and new cover songs and will hopefully be a fitting artistic tribute to the people of the pacific.
So please, come out on Wednesday the 18th of November, see some awesome new music with the knowledge that all ticket sales are going to a vital cause. As artists and audiences this is one way that we can try to make a difference in the aftermath of such tragedy. The benefit performance of "Where Was I?" raised almost $1000 - please invite all your friends so that we can try and match, if not raise that figure!
