Tonight’s slam feature is poetry veteran, fashionista & teacher Marty McConnell.Holding an MFA in one hand & National Slam Poetry Finals stage trophies in the other (Louder Arts, NYC, now in Chicago leading Vox Ferus workshops), Marty is the perfect blend of skilled performance & brilliant writing.She’s toured everywhere to all kinds of venues, both solo and as part of the female trio The Morrigan, been on Def Poetry Jam more than once, etcetcetc! She’s here as part of the Atlanta Queer Lit Fest & this will offer a window to what the AQLF SLAM SHOWCASE will be like on Saturday night at Java Monkey, hosted by Karen G. Included there will be Ami Mattison, JT Bullock, James Caroline, Regie Cabico, Theresa Davis & MORE
