Minneapolis Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association presents The Harvest Jam Acoustic Music ExperienceFriday through Sunday, November 20-22, 2009 Here’s what you can expect at our fourth annual Harvest Jam! Ballroom Concerts on Friday night from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM with Bob & Lynn Dixon, The Whistlepigs, and Pert’ Near Sandstone. And on Saturday night from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM with the Race For A Place Champions and Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands. Plus a Sunday morning gospel show from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Due North, hello Stranger, and Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands. The Race For A Place Band Contest on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Eight groups compete for over $1000 in top prize value with winner getting a place on the main stage of the 2010 Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Festival. The Woodpicks from Thief River falls were the 2009 Race Champions.A Banquet Dinner Celebration on Saturday at 6:00 PM with an after dinner program that includes a performance by the Race For A Place Champions. Dinner attendees can remain in place for the best seats in the house for the evening’s ballroom concerts starting at 7:30 PM. This year’s guest band is Laurie Lewis and The Right Hands!Workshops on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This will be a comprehensive program focusing on band development and performance. Tentative topics include finance, booking, stage craft, songwriting, copywriting, sound reinforcement, instrument care, and more.Kip’s Live on Friday from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM and on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 1:00AM.
