December 17, 2009 will be proclaimed Vanessa Lively Day in Austin, Texas by the Austin Mayor! The City of Austin has recognized 15 artists this year alone, including The Belleville Outfit, Dan Dyer, Ryan Harkrider Kalu James and Nelo. Artists from previous years include Ruthie Foster, Guy Forsyth, Carolyn Wonderland, Shelly King, Suzanna Choffel, Gary Clark Jr., and Kat Edmonson. A proclamation is read by the mayor at the city council meeting declaring it that artist’s day. Musicians play one song at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall. It is also televised live on Austin Access Ch.6. The public is welcome to attend.
