Left home to babysit her little brother, and sick and tired of being treated like a child herself, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) soon finds herself traveling through a magical world, created by Jim Henson and Brian Froud, to get back the thing she so easily gave away.
This won’t be an easy task, and with only 13 hours to do so Sarah must make her way to the center of the Labyrinth to confront the Goblin King (David Bowie) and rescue her little brother. All the while never knowing what might be around the next turn, be it goblins, monsters, riddles, or certain doom. Will she make it in time…or will the Goblin King turn this child into a member of his goblin army? Originally released in 1986, this Jim Henson fantasy masterpiece found its way into the hearts of many movie goers. Now 23 years later, Austin Laptop-Popsters “Shuttle Debris” decided it was time to take a look back inside this magical world, and revisit a soundtrack that was just as amazing as the movie itself.
Performing a hybrid of indie, pop and electronica music, Shuttle Debris invites you to join us as we explore these musical classics, originally created by David Bowie and Trevor Jones. On Sunday October 25th, the Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks will host Shuttle Debris, who will be performing live with the movie “Labyrinth.” Through the modern advances of multimedia technology, the dialog will be the same as it has always been, but when the music kicks in, Shuttle Debris will take control.
