Album Launch for TUNE IN .....Setting out from her roots in Scottish and Irish traditional music, Nuala’s adventures over the past two years have brought her to well known musical hotspots such as New York, London, Paris and Dublin as well as to the lesser explored climes such as Calabria and Puglia in Italy and Baffin Island in Inuit Antartica. This year she returns to Celtic Connections with her new album ‘Tune In’. Inspired by an old wireless radio dial she found in a junk shop, the album brings a whole raft of influences and flavours under one roof, whilst still maintaining an honest fidelity to her roots in Irish and Scottish traditional music. It features many of her long-time musical collaborators, as well as guest appearances from friends around the world. In her own words: ‘This album represents some of my own musical journeyings, and I hope that you will feel part of these adventures as you set your dial to ‘Tune In’…’ This concert will feature music from Tune-In as well as some unexpected treats. Not to be missed! Featuring: Nuala Kennedy (flutes vocals) Julian Sutton (Kathryn Tickell…diatonic accordion) Mario Caribe (Moishe’s Bagel….double bass) Iain Copeland (Peatbog Fairies….drums) Mike Bryan (Boxclub…. guitar) Plus special guests: Iain Macleod (Ex-Shoogelnifty…. mandolin) Dana Lyn (New York, Bach Reformed.... fiddle) Brian Kellock (Tam White…. piano) Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub…. vocals)
